2015 NBA Finals Game 6

Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors! The team played a great game, played good team basketball. Hats off to the Cavaliers who put up a strong challenge despite a depleted team. It still goes to show that basketball is a TEAM sport, and we are minded to learn from that.

2015 NBA Finals Game 5

Golden State seized a 3-2 lead in the 2015 NBA Finals. Stephen Curry found his shot, and LeBron… well LeBron did what LeBron normally does and more. However, without much backing from his teammates and the team letting in 31 points in the fourth quarter, this was Golden State’s game. Tactically, kudos to both coaches for just picking the top five players in each team (ignoring the starting line-up), despite their positions, and letting them run with the game. The final score probably flattered the Warriors slightly given that the Cavs, despite all odds, are still trying to challenge. But...

2015 NBA Finals Game 4

Steve Kerr turned up the tactics, and played great chess moves that the Warriors players executed to level the Final Series 2-2. From midway through the first quarter, it was apparent that this would be the Warriors’ night. They were hungry for the win and they never looked back. They controlled the tempo and played at their pace. It’s now a three game series and it’ll be interesting to see what the Cavs can come up with now. Away from the on court action, this game will be remembered for #lies, #stitches and #flashing! Bring on game 5.

2015 NBA Finals Game 3

“If it works, don’t fix it” was the recurrent theme through Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. It was the same again tactics that served Cleveland well in the first two games of the Finals. Though one could argue that Delly stepped it up a notch, showing that he could play offense, and not just the gritty defense that he showed in Game 2. But can the Cavaliers keep this up? Delly was ambulanced to the Cleveland Clinic post the Game 3 win for treatment of dehydration. There is no doubt...

2015 NBA Finals Game 2

Game 2 of the NBA Finals was meant to be the time of the Golden State Warriors. Warriors were the ‘overdogs’, a home game against an injury depleted team, with Kyrie Irving undergoing surgery and out for the rest of the Finals and more, and Kevin Love out for a while now. Two All-Stars down, and Cavaliers prevailed in overtime 95-93. Admittedly not an outright fan of the Cavaliers, props to the Cavs as they played a tactical game suited to their strengths, whilst stifling the Warriors’ potent offence. LeBron James had a game-high 39 points, but the game was...
